Who’s going to SM Baguio to shop with me?

I heard this exciting news from a friend, and since a Baguio beat isn’t always on a schedule of a busy woman like I am, indulging in with a treat for a bargain, bonus of a cold weather, is something I won’t pass.

My shudder for shopping is undeniable. And like what all women say, shopping is a woman’s thing. You can’t blame me.

I unwittingly consider shopping as a strategy to bring myself into sharper focus. When I speak at an event, I am fuelled by the belief that a perfect top, a belt, and a pair of shoes reflects who you are, especially in the professional sphere.

But beyond that, I also enjoy the pleasure of the purchase itself, especially when sales are around the corner. Buying something on sale is a very special feeling. In fact, the less I pay for something, the more its worth is realized (not that I don’t value my other assets).

So what’s in store for us this coming October 18th to 20th at the biggest mall in the summer capital city, SM City Baguio? Get ready to rejoice shopaholics!October 18 (Friday) 9AM-11AM: We get 10% discount on top of the 50% discount if we use our SM Advantage card.

I’ve been waiting for this sale for what seems like forever, because I’ve been dying to get my hands on some new shoes and school supplies for the children. The shoes I want aren’t exactly cheap, so the 10% discount on top of that 50% markdown will help loads.

We get a shopping privilege of +5% rebate for a minimum single-receipt worth P5,000 if we use our BDO Credit Card. It’s time to flash those golden cards.

3. October 19-20 (Saturday- Sunday) We get a P100-worth coupon with every P2,000 single-recipient. Hey, that’s cool.

4. For every P2,000 purchase, we get a chance to win an Internet TV set.

The odds of me winning are like a million to one, but still, it’s a chance I’m willing to take. I’m sure I’ll spend over a couple of thousand pesos which makes me qualified to win that Internet TV set, and seriously, who doesn’t want a chance to win? Right?

So, mark your calendar on these dates: October 18, 19 & 20, 2013. It’s the biggest 3-day Sale with the 3-way Save. Only at SM Baguio.

So, who’s coming with me on October 18?

Dragon Fruit farm in the foot of Mount Balungao

Known as the goat capital of Pangasinan province, and recently crowned for having the longest zipline in Southeast Asia, Balungao’s tourism industry continues to blossom. And to further raise the Municipality's treasure, the 2.5-hectare dragon fruit farm in Mt. Balungao is seen to attract visitors. Dragon fruit or Pitaya prefers free draining soil with sandy to clay loam types or sandy soils like the land that can be found in Balungao. Dragon fruit farming is widely popular in Central and South America. But thru research, it has reached different countries in Asia including the Philippines. The Mt. Balungao Dragon Fruit farm is located in Napudot Road. The farm was developed in 2010 but the hefty harvest started just 2 years ago. According to Johnny Espe, owner of the farm, an expansion is planned due to the higher demand. Espe is a nurse in profession but when he learned about the different benefits of dragon fruit, he started growing a few in their ancestral land in Balungao. He...

Making desserts on TV

Being interviewed on TV happened to me numerous times, primarily about digital media and social media stuff. But this is my first time to do a live demo making desserts on TV. It feels a bit scary. Bringing my brand on live television and making it myself. I made a local version of an Asian dessert called Cendol. Its a green bean based dessert which resembles halo-halo in our country. Its mostly composed of sweetened fruits in season on a bowl of crushed ice with milk and a little sugar. The interviewer was a friend, broadcaster Alfie Tulagan of GMA TV 10, and his ever- talented cameraman. The ingredients were : 1. Cendol 2. Sweet Potato 3. Langka/ Jackfruit 4. Red beans 5. Crushed ice 6. Fresh milk 7. Sugar (optional) Will upload the video on my Youtube Channel .
